MEET THE PERFORMERS.
.
Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen.
Since Frank Solivan left the cold climes of Alaska for the bluegrass hotbed of Washington, D.C., he’s built a reputation as a monster mandolinist — and become a major festival attraction with his band, Dirty Kitchen.
Solivan and banjoist Mike Munford (2013 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year), guitarist Chris Luquette (IBMA Instrumentalist of the Year Momentum Award winner) and doghouse bassist Dan Booth simmer a bluegrass/newgrass stew from instrumental, vocal and songwriting skills so hot, they also earned 2012 and 2013 Best Bluegrass Band honors from the Washington Area Music Association.
It flavors every note of their new album, On the Edge, which Engine 145 dubbed, “a fine sophomore release from one of the most exciting bands in bluegrass today.”.
.
"If Tim O’Brien and Alison Brown ever had a love child, it might just be Frank Solivan.
This newgrass/bluegrass foursome spirals through skin-tight banjo picking, razor-sharp mandolin and jazz-tinged concentric circles – all with a degree of control that balances technical precision and improvisational virtuosity." - Siobhan Long, Irish Times.
.
"They are the definition of a show-stealing band.
With their melodies, harmonies, and incredible fiddle playing, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen came to Beartrap, saw Beartrap, and truly conquered Beartrap." - Nick Perkins, Beartrap Music Festival.
.
Check out this video to see what they're all about.

.
Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line.
Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line are a traveling Carnival of acoustic Americana.
The high energy, Nashville-based quintet perform Struthers’ original story-songs with tight, three-part harmonies, fiddle, claw-hammer banjo, acoustic guitar, bass, and drums.
Struthers was catapulted into the spotlight when she lead her band to a blue ribbon at the prestigious 2010 Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition (previous winners include Nickel Creek and The Dixie Chicks) and now her group is touring heavily in support of their April 16 release, Carnival.
Struthers’ songs are as steeped in American history, and as well crafted, as the beautiful vintage dresses she wears on stage.
Watch and listen to Nora Jane here..
.
“Nora Jane Struthers is one of the most mesmerizing, haunting and hard-hitting projects I've ever heard.
Her lyrics are simply spectacular and have achingly beautiful melodies to boot.
This is one of my favorite all-time albums and certainly the most arresting music I've heard in a long time.” — Dave Higgs, Bluegrass Breakdown.
.
“Old time music continues to reinvent itself in the able hands of young artists like Nora Jane Struthers” – Tim O’Brien.
.
“Instead of a vocal tour-de-force, her voice – direct and free of artifice – points the listener back to the essense of each song.
She is, first and foremost, a songwriter.
But unlike many songwriters who aren’t performers, Struthers’ singing is as polished as an Opry pro.” – Steven Stone, Vintage Guitar.
.
Creek Bend .
Creek Bend is a Bluegrass band based in Buffalo, NY that has been serving up good, hot bluegrass music for over thirty years.
They have been playing and producing local concerts with the greatest names in Bluegrass music including; The Johnson Mountain Boys, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, the Bluegrass Cardinals, Tony Trischka, Lynn Morris, the Country Gentleman and Bill Monroe.
Their highly successful concert series not only allowed them the opportunity to present the best that Bluegrass has to offer to the audiences of Western New York and Southern Ontario but it has given Creek Bend the truly unique opportunity to watch and learn from the best.
This learning experience proved highly beneficial to the band members when they won first place in the band contest at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival.
Creek Bend has recorded a total of five projects including two that were released nationally by the Copper Creek label.
.
“world class musicians...
with exceptional instrumental abilities”.
Bluegrass Unlimited.
.
Paris Texas with Dee Specker.
Paris Texas performs a vintage repertoire of bluegrass, western and gypsy swing music.
The music harkens from an era when brother harmonies were at the top of the country music charts, Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys were swinging the plains, and Django and Stephane were gracing the clubs of Paris.
The band features the jaw-dropping guitar playing of Bobby Henrie who performs Doc Watson and Django Reinhardt with passion and precision.
Bobby is known throughout upstate New York for his work with the Henrie Brothers (traditional old time and bluegrass music), Bobby Henrie & the Goners (rockabilly), Cornerstone, and the Djangoners (gypsy swing).
Bobby is joined by his brother Doug Henrie on bass and Rick Manning on fiddle, mandolin and vocals..
.
For Enchanted Mountain, Paris Texas will be joined by frequent collaborator, Dee Specker, a fine singer and fiddler from Ithaca, NY who was born and raised in Wellsville, the lead singer in Cornerstone, and who performs regularly at the fine wineries of the Finger Lakes..
.
WORKSHOPS & JAMMING.
Bluegrass festivals offer a great opportunity for fans and musicians to interact with and learn from the festival performers in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment.
At the Enchanted Mountain Music Festival workshops will be offered throughout the weekend to help attendees learn the tricks of the trade from festival performers and some other guest performers in a small workshop setting.
Slow jams designed for beginning and intermediate players will be scheduled during the weekend.
