Detailed description is Featherston ist eine Kleinstadt im Süden der Region Wellington in Neuseeland.
Sie liegt im South Wairarapa District, nördlich des Rimutaka-Tunnels.
Beim Zensus 2006 hatte sie eine Bevölkerung von 3.419 Einwohnern.Die Stadt liegt an der Ostseite der Rimutaka Range in der Nöhe der Nordküste des Lake Wairarapa.
Sie liegt 37 km südwestlich von Masterton und 29 km östlich von Upper Hutt.Das Featherston Military Training Camp war während des Ersten Weltkrieges ein bedeutendes militärisches Ausbildungszentrum.
Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde es als Featherston prisoner of war camp zur Internierung von Kriegsgefangenen genutzt.
