Hey everyone! I am Jewel Howard, known by my friends as “Po” (aka Poser – I will talk more about how I got that name later).
I’m a proud mother of two, Certified Chef and graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, Illinois.
Culinary arts has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.
While cooking and being around food has always been a huge part of my life, the healthy part has not! It wasn’t until I was as my heaviest weight, that I did what I like to call “crossed over to the dark side”! When I left culinary school I was 40 pounds overweight and feeling the worst not only about by my body but also myself, I was so insecure in my own skin and I knew something needed to change! .
Since that time I have lost over 50 pounds, gained a ton of muscle and have written four healthy gourmet cookbooks.
I have completely changed my way of cooking, eating, thinking and working out.
I have also conquered one of my biggest fears, crossed off a bucket list item, and found that I had just as much passion for competing in fitness competitions as I did for food.
This is how Fit Chef came to be! I love training with my Fit Poser Posse and feeling the excitement of walking out on stage knowing how much hard work, dedication and discipline I have put forth in accomplishing my goals.
You have know idea how rewarding that feeling really is! Because of the drive I had to change my own life and and lifestyle and the way I wanted to not only feel in my own skin but also when I tried on clothes I have created a business that can help others achieve those same things as well through information about nutrition, many different variations to cooking healthier, using proper form while working out and using positive thinking to achieve their goals.
It brings joy to my day each time I can change another persons life who is struggling with the same things that I once did.
I aspire to continue to change my physique and compete in more fitness competitions, as well as build my kitchen and write more cookbooks so I can teach others, young and old that healthy cooking does not just mean eating chicken breasts and broccoli for the rest of their lives! With Fit Chef I know I will be able to help and educate people around the world! Remember this is NOT a diet or exercise program, this is a LIFE STYLE CHANGE!
