~ Flute Music for Weddings & other events As a child, I had an large array of thoughts and dreams when asked the question of "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Being a professional singer was the first dream.
I had a love of music from the start of life, but it became an even more important part of me when I began playing flute at 10 years old.
My love for it grew quickly and I continued my study of the flute into young adulthood, eagerly pursuing any opportunities for practice, performance, and competition.

Playing music always brought me into a peaceful, creative space like nothing else.
I was involved in school bands, local and state honor bands, music camps, youth symphonies and chamber groups.
I also began getting gigs here and there in high school for special events like art or garden shows.
I decided to continue my musical studies at UCSC.
This led me to a whole new world of instruction and performance, as I was able to expand my expertise of the instrument and other instruments in the flute family.
At the end of my undergraduate studies, I continued to play in community bands, at public and private events, and started sharing my love of music with some little humans.

After working in a variety of schools and age groups, I knew I wanted to pursue teaching as a career.
I decided to enter graduate school for elementary education, and earned my K-8 credential in 2011.
Having taught from ages of infancy to grade 5 over the years, I have shared my passion of music with my students on many levels.
I think connecting music with multiple subjects and making it a part of the daily classroom has both enhanced their understanding of the content and brought a fun, interactive climate.

Currently, I live in the sierra foothill mountains below Yosemite with my husband and have recently entered the most wonderful joy of being a mother.
I have created this page in hopes to be able to teach and inspire others about music and flute playing.
