Detailed description is Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated is the FIRST and LARGEST Latin Sorority in the nation established in 1975 at Kean College (now University) in Union, NJ.
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated, Gamma Chapter, was established at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey), on April 10, 1981.
Two inspiring ladies by the names of Violeta Rolon Sandoval and Carmen Milagros Figueroa willingly gave their hearts to the growth of Lambda Theta Alpha, on the future of Gamma Chapter.
Since 1981, Gamma Chapter has grown to have twenty-six lines (Line 26 – Spring 2013) of sisters who exemplify the ideals, goals, and charisma of a true Lambda Lady..
Gamma Chapter has strong and growing Alumnae of over 80 successful ladies, who just like Violeta and Carmen, found Unity, Love, and Respect in their hearts and each other, and vowed to keep it alive forever.
Gamma Chapter has made a commitment to Lambda Theta Alpha to surpass the goals they have established and give to the sorority the quality of sisters it deserves.

Gamma Chapter sisters have been instrumental in the growth and success of Lambda Theta Alpha.
Several sisters from Gamma Chapter have opened up other chapters in New Jersey.
Numerous Gamma Chapter sisters have served on the National Board of Directors as well as on our area board (NJSA3).
Our sisters are leaders of the campus community, the surrounding community, and the Latino communities.
Our sisters are compassionate, donating their precious time to those who are in need, and honoring the importance of community service that our founding mothers established.

Gamma Chapter’s philantrophy is The Blue Ribbon Campaign which focuses on preventing child abuse.
Every year sisters put together many ribbons and information cards to hand out to the community throughout the month of April.
This is a way for Gamma Chapter to inform the campus community one of the many steps that can be taken to save a child from abuse.
Tables are set up every year to hand out blue ribbons during our Founder's Week.
We receive a large amount of money through this and donate it to the Blue Ribbon Campaign National Headquarters.
In the past, the donated money has also been given to the New Jersey Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse to help defray the costs of running the program.

In the 2006 Inter Greek Council Awards Ceremony we were the only multicultural Greek organization to be awarded four star chapter recognition, which is the highest that can be awarded to any Greek organization.
