My love for cutting hair began at the age of three when I got a chair, climbed up on the kitchen counter, and cut my bangs right to the scalp.

A few years later, I was heavily involved in competitive dance and was leaving in two days for a competition in Florida.
In the dance world, there was a strict hair dress code with a part down the middle and a double French braid.
Let's just say I continued to explore my passion for hair at the age of nine while spending the night at my grandma’s house watching Shirley Temple.
Grandma had a box of wire mesh rollers in her bathroom closet, and I wanted to give those a try.
If you do not know me, I have fine naturally curly hair.
When my grams went to bed, I snuck into her bathroom, grabbed her curlers and went to town “rolling” my hair.
Time went by and after the curlers were done “setting,” I went to take them out and well … some did not! I thought to myself, “If I can’t pull them out, I will just cut them out.” To make a long story short, with plenty of tears from my mom and empty hairspray bottles as a testimony to her attempt to cover up the bald spots, all I could tell her was “I don’t know what happened.”.

I continued my creative learning in high school doing hair and make-up for my cheerleading team, dance team, and color guard competitions, helping out friends with school dances and special events.
At 16 years old, I began apprenticing in a salon after school where I learned hands-on technique, customer service, and how to make your client feel truly special.
I came to understand that first and foremost the most important thing is the health and integrity of your hair.
It became very apparent to me that to most women, including me, we often wear most of our confidence in our hair.
