Wandra Hill in October 10, 1992 with the support of Dr.
Jerry Whitten and Dr.
Robert Savage of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The late Mr.
Kyran Anderson led the program from 1994-1997 and touched lives of students in grades 6-11.

Under the leadership of Dr.
Joyce Hilliard-Clark, the program was restructured to provide thematic learning experiences for middle school students and two, year-round physics programs for high school students from 1997-2010.
A high school program on the topic of Photonics was added with funding from the Burrough Wellcome Fund in 2004 and National Science Foundation in 2005 and 2008.
The vision continues to expand under the leadership of the present director, Pamela Gilchrist.
