Detailed description is 6th Annual I.C.C.
January 16 - 17th, 2016! Here are the Rules:.
.
1. The winner of a captain’s coin toss will determine which goal to defend.
Teams will switch goals after the first half.
The possession of the puck will be determined by a face off where the teams hit sticks together three times..

2. All players must wear helmets and hockey skates.
Protective equipment is optional but highly recommended.
.

3. No goalies will be allowed.
(Goals will be modified to a smaller size for safety reasons).
.
4. There will be one ref skating on the ice to monitor the play.
The ref will be in charge of resetting the puck and looking for player infractions.
There will also be a scorekeeper to keep track of the score and the time.

5. Penalties will be called for rule infractions.
Penalties called by discretion of the referee are final.
A minor penalty will result in possession of the puck awarded to the opposing team..

6. Any major penalty, which includes any action that can possible injure the other player, will result in that player being ejected from playing in the tournament.
The team that received the ejection will play the remainder of the game short-handed ( 4 vs 3).
The referee will determine major penalties.

7. Abuse of official will be considered a major penalty.
This includes yelling, swearing, or arguing about calls..
.
8. No checking is allowed.
Such actions will result in a minor penalty, unless deemed serious enough to be a major.

9. No slap shots allowed.
Such actions will result in a minor penalty.

10. Players cannot fall or lay on the ice in an effort to protect the goal area.
Such action will result in a minor penalty.

11. Goaltending is not allowed.
A player may not patrol, “camp out” or remain stationery in the crease area and act as a goaltender.
A defender may deflect the puck in the crease area, but the defender must do so while continuing to move through the crease area.
The crease area is defined as an imaginary box extending out 4 feet from the outside corners of the goal.
If a team gets caught with a stationed man, that player must sit out for two minutes.

12. Contacting the puck with a stick above the waist will result in a loss of possession.

13. Saucer passes (i.e.
pucks that are lifted low, below the knee) are acceptable.
However, if the pass goes above the knee the team loses possession.

14. If a puck goes out of bounds last team to touch the puck will lose possession.
During the restart the defender must give his opponent two-stick lengths of space.

15. There are no off-sides or icing calls.
However, a player cannot cherry pick..

16. Goals must be scored on attacking side of center ice.
After a goal is scored teams will have a faceoff at center ice.

17. Referees will call out the score after each goal.
.

18. Games will be composed of two 15 minute halves with a 2-minute halftime.

19. During round robin play if the teams tie they will end that game in a tie.
During playoff play if a tie occurs the teams will play a 5 minute sudden death period.

20. All games are running time and substitutions can be made during play (“On the fly”) or while a puck is being retrieved from out-of-bounds.
There is no stoppage in play after a goal is scored, or a after a penalty is awarded.
It is up to each team to ensure that there are only 4 players on the ice.

21. Players can only play on one team.

22. Each team must complete the sign up form, attend the rules meeting, check in before the tournament, and make sure every player on the team fills out a players credentials form and an insurance waiver.
