On January 2, 2006, JCHS opened a shelter in Valley Falls.
The building was a former veterinary clinic and we keep it licensed as a shelter and a veterinary clinic..

We are a low-kill shelter.
We only euthanize an animal if it is medically necessary or aggressive and we are not able to make the animal adoptable.
We have had a consistent positive outcome (adoptions and return to owners) of 90% or more.
