Kim Walker, CEO of S2C, as a teacher for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system, she has witnessed a continuous disconnect between young men’s actions and productivity in the classroom and their future goals and ambitions.
This disconnect begins during the elementary learning stages and continues throughout their matriculation in grade school, causing the our communities to lose many of it’s future leaders before they are afforded the opportunity to graduate high school.

In response to this ever growing crisis Kim Walker, along with the support of her colleagues and community, has created S2C in order to meet the needs of our male youth who are dealing with the complexities of balancing their personal lives and their educational lives and need extra support in the classrooms.
Therefore S2C is currently offering its first of many programs beginning the fall of 2013; Students Making A Right Turn (S.
M.A.R.T.) The program is for students in our local schools that have signed up voluntarily to be tutored in core subjects, mentored and career choice opportunities.
Their attendance, participation and growth is monitored.
The student and parent/guardian will adhere to a contract signed upon the student’s admission into the program..
