Detailed description is KU MTNA is an organization that allows music students to serve the community by providing benefit concerts, masterclasses, lessons, and more.
MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) is a national organization with student chapters that provide a wealth of opportunities to all of us who love music and want to share that love with others.
Our initiatives include:.
-Giving music lessons to disadvantaged youth (open to guitarists, recorder-players, vocalists, pianists, etc.).
-Volunteering in musical service projects in the Lawrence community.
-Presenting research at national conferences .
-Gaining experience in a master-class setting (teaching, performing, or observing).
-Organizing and/or performing in benefit concerts.

MTNA meets once a month and members are welcome to be as active as they like in whichever projects they choose or even initiate a new service project.
MTNA provides resume-building and leadership opportunities for music students of all backgrounds, whether you're a music education major, therapy student, soloist, or collaborator.
Joining MTNA is also a great way for members to expand their professional network.
