Detailed description is Linda Goodman's House is located in historic Cripple Creek, Colorado.
1890's brownstone steeped in gold rush history...
The House was originally built in 1898.
Following the fires of 1896, a city ordinance declared all new buildings would be built in brick.
A businessman from New York City acted accordingly, replicating his home and office after the brick brownstones so common back east.
Next door was the Rhodes House, one of several boarding houses forming their own transient neighborhood on Carr Avenue..
In the years since it was built, the building also served as a boarding house, as well as a bookkeeping office and private residence.
Rumor also has it that some shady ladies worked here after the red light district on Myers Avenue shut down sometime after the turn of the century.
Nicola Tesla was staying in the house during his experiments with lightening in the area.

During the 1960's this was the summer home of author Leland Feitz.
Empty for many years, Feitz and his family worked on it weekends for more than a year to make it liveable.
Leland Feitz met Linda Goodman through a Denver book signing and brought her to Cripple Creek for her first visit.
In the late 1960s she rented the house, later buying it.
Goodman made good use of the furniture and added several touches of her own.
A large stained glass work depicting St.
Francis of Assisi, Goodman's personal saint, adorns the front window.
Above the window is a hand carved cornice reading "Brother Sun".
It stems from one of Goodman's favorite movies, "Brother Sun Sister Moon".
The front door also has beveled glass in it depicting the scene from Alice in Wonderland when Alice finds a bottle instructing her to "DRINK ME".

Rick and Janice Woods purchased the red brick Brownstone in April 1995.
On the location where the Rhode House stood, the Woods have reconstructed a Victorian style house which adjoins to the Goodman's house and opened the Last Dollar Inn.

Much of the flavor of the original house is intact.
Linda Goodman left behind many antiques and memorabilia which the Wood's acquired with the house.
"It was like she just up and walked out of the house.
There were clothes in the closet and even toothpaste in the bathroom when we came in" (said Rick Wood).
Linda Goodman's bedroom contains the original wallpaper, carpet and furniture.

Jason and Sofia purchased the house in October, 2013 and Linda Goodman's Miracle Inn was opened for 3 years.
Living in Linda Goodman's house was Sofia's dream come true since she read about it for first time in L.Goodman's book "Star Signs" in the 1990s.
