J.E.
Hillary Sr.
prayed for guidance on a decision to organize a church, he received the answer to do so.
Pastor and his family opened their home as a place of worship.
Services were held in their garage on several Sundays.
He and a few faithful Christian soldiers and some little children set about the business of the Lord.
Pastor Hillary obtained the Montgomery Minister’s Union at 113 West Jeff Davis as a temporary worship facility.
In doing so, we wanted a name that would reflect what Christianity is all about, so the name Love and Peace was voted upon on October 10, 1999.
Pastor Hillary and these Christian workers resolved to let nothing and no one get their way.

As Christians, we believe that faith is an important part of our existence.
Because of faith, prayer, the love of God, and the love for his people, we obtained a loan to purchase the property at 329 Air Base Blvd.
Through hard work and dedication by our Pastor and church members, on June 18, 2000 we held our first worship service in our new church home.

The past years were a challenge and an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God.
Our Pastor feeds us with the Word of God.
Our relationship with God has grown.
Love and Peace is blessed to have a spiritual leader whose first concern is the spiritual growth of the church.
