Founded in 1932 by a poetry reading group in Highland Park, MLT moved to many locations before finding a permanent home at the 52nd Street Playhouse.
In 1973, that home burned to the ground.
But, the show did go on, with performances held at the Temple Theatre until 1977 when construction was completed on the present day playhouse..
