Detailed description is Master's Program in Interdisciplinary Social Science The Master of Arts in Social Sciences program is an innovative new master’s degree program offered by Morehead State University.
The program provides opportunities for students to develop advanced skills in social science research and and is designed to appeal to students with interests in geography, history, sociology, interdisciplinary studies, political science, women’s studies, and other areas of the social sciences.

The MA in Social Sciences program features a core set of classes on interdisciplinary topics.
These include ISS 604, Proseminar (or Introduction to Interdisciplinary Social Science), ISS 651--Gender, ISS 652--Race, ISS 617--Globalization, ISS 633--Area Studies, and ISS 650--Social Theory.
We also offer elective classes in Power, Culture, and the Conservatiion of Natural Resources, and accept credit for graduate classes in allied disciplines of sociology, communications, psychology, public administration, political science, and history.
The MA in Social Science Program offers a fully online curriculum and also has traditional classroom offerings for those who do better with the traditional classroom experience.
As a result, we offer an online degree and a hybrid online/classroom path to a degree.
The MA in Social Science Program also has thesis and non-thesis options and offers at least two summer classes every summer to give students as much flexibility as possible.
