Detailed description is Family music classes for kids age 0-7 and the adults who love them! Music Together provides mixed age Family Music classes for children under five and their adult care givers, Babies classes for infants under 10 mos old and Big Kids classes to children 5-7 who may be ready for more independent learning.
We use segments of song, movement, instrument play and rhythm exercises in a playful, non-performance setting.
Classes are 45 minutes long and run in 10-week terms three times a year and 2 8-week terms over the summer.

Each term concentrates on a different collection of music gathered from our own culture and cultures around the world as well as some originally composed music.
We use all the modalities and introduce complex rhythms ensuring children are exposed to both traditional and non-traditional harmonies and structures.
Families take home songbooks and CDs of the collections we study to continue learning and listening at home, reinforcing what is taught in the classroom each week.

Music Together is based in over 25 years of early childhood music education research.
That research has shown children who participate in music learning at this key age develop not only musical competence, but benefit in greater language, cognitive, motor, social and emotional development as well! Our research is ongoing ensuring our techniques for learning remain cutting edge and best utilize the most current information available in this field.

Colleen McGrath Lilley, director of Music & Me, LLC, has spent her life in dedication to music.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Voice from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Music degree in Opera from The Boston Conservatory of Music.
Ms.
Lilley performed nationally and internationally for over 15 years and has been teaching both privately and in classroom settings for over 20.
She certified to teach the program in 2008 and spent her first year teaching Music Together in Berlin.
Lilley moved to St.
Petersburg, Florida in 2010 and opened You and Me & Music Together, now Music & Me.
She feels passionately about her work with our newest members of society and believes strongly in the benefits of an early childhood music education.
