North Carolina food banks collect surplus food from manufacturers, producers, stores, distributors and farmers.
We also save food that might otherwise be thrown away while many of our hungry neighbors go without food.
In FY 2013-14 our food bank members distributed almost 152 million pounds of nutritious food, the equivalent of over 126 million meals to North Carolinians in need..
