2009年に日本のウクレレ愛好家の関口和之氏プロデュースにより発足。 2009年に開かれた第１回目から約5000人の参加者がハワイはもちろん、日本や世界中から集まり、大いに盛り上がりました。以来毎年開催している音楽を中心としたみんなに楽しんで頂けるイベントです。.

Since then, the founders have spread the mission to expand the love of Ukulele through concerts in Japan and throughout the world..

Kazuyuki Sekiguchi passionately introduced the Ukulele among the Japanese people, and Iwao--one of the best Ukulele player in Japan--serves as host for the event along with David Smith of Leiland and the group BEGIN.
This event is free and open to the public.
In recent years, turnout for this event has been over 10,000 people.
Even though the event has grown in attendance, the peaceful nature of the event has been preserved..

The message of The Ukulele Picnic is "Peace", "Friendship" and "Love of Ohana (family)".
For the first time, the Ukulele Picnic is crossing the Pacific Ocean to the land of Aloha and the home of the Ukulele to bring this message of love and family.
The Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii will be presented through collaboration between Kazuyuki Sekiguchi and sumotori Konishiki as a means to bridge Japan and Hawaii, and to bring the message of love and familiy to both peoples.
