One World Midwives serves women and families worldwide through both direct action and midwifery training programs.
We provide care to women and families where the need is the greatest by providing women's health and perinatal midwifery care to populations affected by conflict, disasters, or a lack of sufficient women’s healthcare.
Currently, we are setting up a program to make midwifery care accessible for all low income women in Tijuana, Mexico.
Internationally, future, current and past efforts include providing midwives to existing like-minded organizations and health programs in Kenya, Uganda, and in the Philippines.
Domestically, we are assembling a mobile midwifery unit to serve the seasonal workers of the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon and offering midwifery and women’s health care in Cannon Ball, North Dakota at the Standing Rock Reservation and Army Corps of Engineer land.
Our charitable work has been underway since 2012 under the auspices of Oak Grove Midwifery (http://oakgrovemidwifery.com), our S-Corp that also operates a private midwifery practice.
Since our inception, we also collect and distribute free maternity and baby clothing, diapers, and baby items for low income families.
On the educational front, we are developing best practice midwifery modules and programs that can be delivered both online and in person.
