Pleasant Hill Baptist is the oldest church in East Polk County, Tennessee.
The village of Pleasant Hill was settled in the early 1840s.
The earliest settlers came into East Polk County from North Carolina, and North Georgia before copper was discovered, and settled near the state line.
The first road followed the old Indian Trail from North Georgia..

Finally the Baptist erected a church building near the state lines of Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina.
