In 1978, a contractor frustrated with the low quality deck coatings in the market, Jan Bagnall (Pli-Dek’s Executive Vice President) went to work on formulating an innovative deck coating that would solve the building industry’s need for improved waterproofing, durability and performance.
Jan introduced the first ever polymer modified metal lath deck system backed with extensive ASTM testing and ICBO accreditation which revolutionized the industry.
Soon, Architects began specifying the system and competing subcontractors started purchasing the system for their own projects..
