Detailed description is A rolling memorial for battle buddies lost as well as to raise awareness for Veteran Suicide and PTSD/TBI Awareness #22istomany In 2004 a Veteran lost afriend and lost himself, since than he has struggled to convey his feelings, and push past the pain and darkness of living with PTSD.

He was helped along that path by a great group of people the KEYSTONE WOUNDED WARRIORS and the PA WOUNDED WARRIORS..

He had a great idea in order to not only honor the memory of his fallen comrades those who have struggled with the pain of both physical but as well as the unseen wounds of war.
Also to honor the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.....

Our goal is to create a rally car that will be used to help raise money for awareness and helping veterans with PTSD and TBI's.

Patrick Welsh is the veteran behind the Warrior Bug.
He had the idea come to him to build our 1974 VW Beetle into a Rally Car with meaning.
He served in the US Army in Iraq and during his first tour in 03-04 lost three battle buddies from his unit as well as ended up with a Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD.
He also lost friends from other units as well.
He has struggled with the demons of living with PTSD as well as the very common problem of suicide in veterans.
He wanted to do something to honor those lost as well as raise funds and awareness for veterans living with the same issues as he.
The idea he came up with was a rolling memory in the shape of a Rally Car VW Beetle.
He wants to transform the slightly dented and worn down car into a road warrior in order to take it to events, shows, fundraisers and races to raise money for Keystone Wounded Warrior (KWW).
He is doing the work himself and it may not be a professional build but it is built with love and honor.
However he does need some assistance with parts and finances..

Each part of the car has a different meaning.
The black color of the car represents the dark area that our vets with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries live in every day.
The Driver side door bears the names of PFC Orr and SPC Acosta two soldiers who Patrick was very close with who were drivers of Bradley IFVs lost in Taji, Iraq.
The officer side door bears the name of CSM Blankenbecler.
He was Patrick’s Command Sgt Major who died in Iraq in an attack by the enemy.
The doors will bare our own logo.
On the bottom of the door a shamrock and the name Thomas D Welsh in memory of Patrick's father who suffered from PTSD and Alcoholism as well..

We want to get the project done and released by 23 May 2015 at an unveilingceremony for the Veterans and Gold Star Families at the York Memorial Garden in York, PA.
Then on the 24 May 2015 it will be at its first event with KWW up at the Memorial Day Weekend race at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA.

This whole project is being done as a rolling memorial as well for all Veterans and as well for the Gold Star Families..
