Detailed description is The Roseburg Senior Center offers social activities, nutritious meals, classes, bingo and more...and we've been doing it since 1965.
We envision a bright future--with broad and generous support--to serve our community long into the future.
The Roseburg Senior Center was established in 1965 and occupied several small locations until 1979 when it moved into a 3,500 square foot space provided at no cost by Douglas County at the old Mercy/Health Department Building on Madrone Street..

In 2014 the County notified the Senior Center that it needed to vacate the space as the building was to be sold..

The Roseburg Senior Center found an ideal new location with over 22,000 square feet of space at 1614 SE Stephens (the former Chin's Restaurant).
A two-year lease agreement was consummated in September 2014, the organization moved and the clock began ticking.
A plan was developed that envisioned a bright future for area seniors..

We are in the process of purchasing and renovating our building.
We have exciting plans for our future..
.
It will be the first time in our organization's 51-year history that we'll actually own our own building.
No more sudden moves.
No more squeezing into space that wasn't ours but was all we had..

We've been working hard and working fast since launching the "Save the Roseburg Senior Center" campaign in July 2016.
At that time we were on a deadline of year-end to try to buy our building or face another move.
Since then, we've been out telling our story.
Perhaps you've seen a billboard, bus sign or news story about who we serve and the needs we're trying to meet.
You might have received a mailing about our plans and asking for your help.
We're approaching potential donors--large and small, businesses and individuals.
We're inviting everyone to participate, in some way..

There are many ways to get involved:.

We welcome anyone age 50 and up to give us a "test drive" a time, or two, or three.
Stop in for an activity, come play bingo or have lunch at the 50+ Cafe.
