The vision for St.
James Baptist Church began February 2, 1934, when 18 members under the direction of Pastor J.
N.
Ferguson decided to create a place of worship for Spencer community.
It was not until July 9, 1939, that the small congregation proudly marched into their newly built church home! Since then St.
James Baptist Church flourished into the strong congregation it is today..

Under the direction of Rev.
W.B.
Parker St.
James launched numerous programs that benefited the Spencer community.
One Progam, in particular, was the Cloud of Witnesses, a program responsible for providing $100,000.00 in financial assistance to hundreds of thousands of Oklahoma City high school seniors for nearly fifteen years.
In the Spring of 2009, Pastor Parker passed the reigns to Rev.
Eddie E.
White..

Although Rev.
White has only led the church for two years he has made great progress in leading St.
James into the new millennium.
With the launching of St.
James first website, Rev.
White will be expanding his ministry to millions worldwide! Rev.
White plans to follow in the footsteps of Rev.
Parker and continue to propel St.
James and the Spencer community into excellence!.
