SATELLITE is a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) outreach and leadership development program hosted at North Carolina State University (NC State).
In the state of North Carolina, public high schools receive disproportionate funding with rural and impoverished communities receiving considerably less funding.
Many students lack the resources to adequately support their students' interests.
54 students from underserved communities are given the opportunity to experience interactive activities, panels, tours, and team building activities led by NC State faculty, undergraduate students, and STEM professionals..

Established in 1997, SATELLITE has a 20 year history with an alumni base of nearly 1000 students and hundreds of counselors.
SATELLITE is completely organized and staffed by NC State undergraduate students.
Each year, approximately 25 undergraduate volunteer just days after the conclusion of final exams.
All time donated by these undergraduates is donated and many former counselors cite SATELLITE as being a key factor in the development in their personal, professional, and academic lives.
