Detailed description is Located on the Island of Grand Manan.
Close to restaurants, attractions and picturesque scenery.
Seasonal Inn, cottage like atmosphere and very cozy.
In 2009 we began our journey of looking to buy a property on Grand Manan Island after coming to the area for 30 years on holidays.
A vacation property that is! By 2011, we had seen all there was to offer, and nothing ticked all of our boxes.
Somewhere along the way, we turned our heads to the possibility of a seasonal business.
For many years I had surmised that seasonal is the way to go.
Work very hard for half the year and have a life the other half.
After owning a couple of small businesses, I knew for sure I did not want to be 'ON' with business all the time, and lets face it, I'm not getting any younger! This building at 22 Route 776, was at the bottom of my list for sure.
The state of the property was derelict which translates to costly.
Something my husband, the accountant, is very mindful of.
I also had my eye on another property in Ontario at the same time, and the Ontario property was winning! We, my husband of 27 years, and I, have restored 12 buildings together.
This would be our 13th, as I reluctantly decided to do one more, and chose to update and rejuvenate the old Manan Island Inn.
Now, three summers later, the place feels bright and welcoming.
It still creeks and moans like an antiquated property does, but it is functional and clean.
Cosy and warm, ready to let people enjoy a peaceful island life experience when they come for a holiday.
Oh...and we, the husband and I...are VERY VERY TIRED!!!! LOl
