The Shawnee Heights Fire District provides fire suppression, rescue and raid emergency medical response to 190 square miles of Shawnee County, Kansas including the communities of Tecumseh, Berryton, Pauline, Montara and Wakarusa..

The District, led by Chief Tom Garcia, is staffed by 9 Career Duty Officers supported by 40 to 45 part-time Firefighters.
The district operates 4 fire stations, 3 of these are staffed 24/7 and another is staffed by part-time personnel as needed for emergency calls..
