From mid June to the end of August, every Tuesday, 6pm to dusk, Craig Street in Parksville, BC transforms into an exciting market of more than 180 merchants and vendors.
The Summer by the Sea Street Market began in 2004 and was made up primarily of Craig Street merchants.
It was designed to bring awareness to the local retail shopping district in Parksville.
At that time, the market was quaint and self-contained to one short city block.
The huge success and following of the market has helped grow it into a thriving village of it's own Tuesday evenings each summer, now spreading over five city blocks.
Starting the second Tuesday in June through to the last Tuesday in August, Parksville business owners and traveling vendors from all over Vancouver Island unite to transform the Craig Street into a bustling collage of excitement.
An abundant selection of local restaurants and food vendors provide enticing dining options.
