The History of the Bartlett Recreation Department .
We began as the BARA (Bartlett Athletic and Recreation Association), which was run by volunteers and offered a summer program and youth sports..
Today we offer a complete line of programming for youths and adults; including after school programs, sports, adult education, community events, like the Fourth of July parade and activities, concert in the park series, egg hunt, Fall Egg Hunt, craft fair and tree lighting, touch the truck day, mother/daughter social and many more.
The events that we offer are free and family oriented.

We offer a six week summer program that is designed to keep the children active and engaged.
We have designed the program to offer swim lessons, tennis lessons as well as some free trips to make it possible for all to participate regardless of income.

Each year, we offer nearly $6000.00 in scholarships to camp, some of which were for the entire six weeks, as well as thousands of dollars more in after-school programming, and scholarships for two high school graduating seniors.
Supporting this event and fundraiser will aid us in continuing this tradition..

Through the communities surrounding us, parents, as well as area businesses, we are able to make these programs successful and open to all.
Bartlett Recreation continues to offer all its sports, many programs and events at no cost.
