Detailed description is Two family-owned houses, Camp Rest-A-While and Camp Gray Birches, built in 1895 and 1900, on 50 acres of land on Squam Lake in Holderness, NH.

Route 3, the property includes 50 acres of deciduous and coniferous forest with about one-quarter mile of Squam Lake shoreline.
Forty-six acres are a registered tree farm.
Three houses are sited on land that slopes gently toward the lake in this quiet and secluded setting..

Located about a quarter of a mile from the lakeshore, two of the houses, Camp Rest-A-While and Camp Gray Birches, were built in 1895 and 1900 respectively.
They are well preserved, appearing much as they did at the turn of the 19th Century.
Clearings on the lake side of the houses are maintained as natural meadows, allowing views of the water and mountains.
Paths and a dirt road lead down the slope to the lake.

The two old camps are fully furnished, two-story summer houses with six and seven bedrooms, sleeping 12 each.
Although not centrally heated, each camp has a fireplace in the living room, with firewood supplied.
Each house includes one full bathroom (tub), an additional first- floor toilet, an outdoor shower, and a large screened porch facing the meadow with views of the lake.
In a separate building a few feet away and connected by a porch breezeway, are a dining room (lots of dishes) and a large, simply-furnished kitchen (refrigerator, stove, sink, pots and pans, etc.) with a wood stove for heat, if needed.
A clothes washer is available in a shed attached to the kitchen with wooden racks and clothes lines for drying..

There is a beachside bath house for changing, an off-shore raft in Allen Cove for diving and sunbathing, a small boat dock on Hodges Cove, and a well-maintained clay tennis court.
Also on the property are a pole barn and a 19th Century former horse barn, both for Taylor family use only.

The camps are available for rent from mid June to early October.
Weekly rentals are preferred, but shorter stays may be available.
