She purchased the building in 2010 and immediately began the painstaking process of turning a long dark venue into a showpiece for downtown Greenville..

The Texan Theater, which dates back to the late 1800’s as the King Opera House, is now a fabulously versatile entertainment jewel that can host movie screenings, theater productions, live music and private functions.
Horan bought the adjacent building extending the Texan Theater lobby into a sterling coffee shop that serves cups of java, tasty lunch specialties and sweet delights to downtown workers and guests.

Horan preserved posters, catwalks, bathrooms, the lobby terrazzo floor, the ceiling in the old lobby, the striking neon blade, and the marquee.

Speaking of ceilings, the stunning new Texan Theater ceiling consists of a series of hand painted panels, one depicting the Texas star and the other the state of Texas starred with Greenville’s location.
Each panel was painted on canvas by Chris Arnold of Eyecon in Dallas.

Jim Besgrove of KBA Design in Dallas oversaw the project, from taking in Horan’s vision to supervising the installation.
