The original name, ToddCountyOnline.com from 1999 became inactive in 2011 and when resumed in 2012 that name had expired and was registered by a domain reseller and was offered for sale for several thousand dollars so instead of purchasing the original name the site was renamed to todd-county.com.
The site was renamed in 2015 to ToddCounty.org, primarily just to have a name without a dash and recently renamed to ToddCountyNews.com because the site is not really intended to be an organization but rather local news collection and publishing so the dot com seemed more appropriate.
