The UNC-Chapel Hill Program in Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS) offers students a global approach to the study of intellectual, cultural, and economic commerce throughout the medieval and early modern eras.
Students will have the opportunity to study with more than 60 faculty members across 10 different departments in the humanities and fine arts, pursuing their passions that span a broad historical and geographical realm, from late antiquity through the seventeenth century,from the Germanic and Celtic cultures of the north, through the intellectual brilliance of the Far East, to the developments of expansion in the New World.
