Detailed description is Bob and Esther Van Hammen founded Van Hammen Cottages in 1960.
They are located on Platte Lake.
We have three cabins with breathtaking lakefront views.
We offer four-season family fun! Come and enjoy the tranquility of Platte Lake.

Our resort features three family vacation cabins on an acre of land with 180’ of frontage on the north shore of beautiful Big Platte Lake.
Each cabin has two double beds and a bunk bed, a kitchen with all cooking utensils and modern bathroom.
Each cabin also has a charcoal grill and picnic table.
Bring your own linens and towels..

We also have a classic log cabin nestled in the woods just across the road on Little Platte Lake..

Big Platte Lake, a 2500 acre all-sports lake, is ideal for swimming boating and fishing.
Our private, sandy beach is an ideal water-playground for children because of an extensive shallow area, perfect for frolicking, wading, and floating.
In the deeper water farther out there is a raft for swimming.
Use any of our 4 kayaks, 5 canoes or the rowboat that comes with your cottage and go kayaking, canoeing, or fishing for walleye, bass, northern pike and panfish.
Bring your own equipment and go sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing or jet-skiing..
