Back to the days, when a person’s word was their bond.
A time when people worked hard and took pride in everything they did.
The strength and love in these individuals for their family, their community and even their country knew no bounds..
Our story begins with a couple named Giovanni and Tomassa (Lombardo) Restivo who settled with their family (six boys and one girl) in Villa Rosa around 1756.
Villarosa (established in 1762) is a small village of Sicily in southern Italy.
August of 1908, (one of the great, great, grandsons of Giovanni) Giuseppe Restivo left Villarosa for the United States to provide for his family.
Giuseppe and Maria (Rinchiuso) eventually settled in Freeman Spur, Illinois with their six sons.
In 1923, their son Jack married Marietta (Lamattina) and raised their family in Freeman Spur Illinois.
They had three children Joseph, Mary (MaChetta) and later Josephine.
Mary met Don Coloni while they both attended Herrin High School.
Don was the oldest son of John and Pauline (Whittaker) Coloni.
His ancestors were from Northern Italy.
Don was born and raised in Herrin with his younger brother Richard.
Don and Chetta fell in love and were married in 1950.
They were blessed with two sons and taught their children the importance of family, hard work, and values.
John and Steve grew up in Herrin and loved playing sports for their school.
They remained very close and now have children and grandchildren of their own.

January 6, 2011, John and Steve Coloni opened Villa Rosa Italian Food & Steak and Coloni’s Bar & Grill.
Their hope is that Villa Rosa becomes a place where friends and families reunite and enjoy a meal, while catching up.
Couples can enjoy a candle light dinner and each guest who walks through the door feel welcomed.
Times are hard and prices are rising so they work to keep their prices down.
Villa Rosa has become known for their Bonya Calda, Ma Ma Chetta’s homemade Lasagna and Pies and is becoming famous for their mouth-watering steaks.
