Davey received his bachelor degree at the University of Iowa.
He graduated with honors from Washington University in St.
Louis School of Medicine in 1981.

Davey completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Indiana University Medical Center and is board certified in Internal Medicine.
He completed his Dermatology residency and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1988.
He is board certified in Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
