Detailed description is Come Discover a World of Play at "Wendy's House!" Located next to Vancouver Island University (Cowichan) and behind Island Savings Centre in Duncan, BC.
A drop-in Centre for Families with children Birth to age 6.
It's and Early Learning Centre developed by the community for the community.
Inside, is a mini-town with a pre-school size, Pretend Fire Hall, Restaurant, Coast Salish Village, Vet Clinic, Health Centre, Construction Station, General Store, and Office.
It will include a boat to climb on, a kids fitness area, light table explorations, story telling area, reading corner and a life size kids Tree House.
All of these built with materials and labour donated by groups and businesses in our community.
(No admission fee and under-cover stroller storage is available).
Coming soon, is an outdoor classroom as well..
The centre will also host special events for community groups in the Valley..
Success by 6 is a major partner in funding this exciting endeavour.
Providing initial seed funds and then a second grant to assist in completing the project.
That initial financial support has encouraged other community partners to come on board.
We will be highlighting those partners as we progress.
