Grimes is from Texas where he attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
He completed an internship in general surgery with the US Army in Denver Colorado, and then moved to Dugway Army Proving Ground in Dugway, Utah where he ran a small family medicine clinic for the U.S.
Army.
It was there that he discovered his love of family medicine.
After finishing his military service, he returned to Texas to complete his training as a family physician at Scott and White Hospital, and stayed on for several years as a practicing physician and as an instructor in family medicine.
He moved to Prince Edward Island in 2008 and has been practicing at the O’Leary clinic since that time.
In addition to providing care through the clinic, he has a passion for evidence-based medicine, palliative care, and nursing home medicine.
