I have experience mixing, growing, and storing agar and many caustic and acidic solutions in a laboratory setting.
I also have experience keeping accurate records and observations of bacterial cultures and solutions at Clatsop Community College and Oregon State University.
In both laboratories, I was tasked setting up laboratory experiments including DNA electrophoresis, mixing agar for bacterial growth, calibration of pH meters, autoclave operations, mixing/storing/ordering chemicals, and organizing and maintaining lab equipment such as microscopes and filtration and titration tubes.

Lastly, I was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Astoria, Oregon for two years.
This work included HAZMAT training, fire and emergency triage and response training, terrorism training.
The CERT team was also tasked with responding locally after strong storms so I gained experience participating in flood control and waterfront restoration events.
