Minister Martin provides €500,000 additional support to the National Gallery of Ireland

Minister Martin today announced additional support to the National Gallery of Ireland in the context of ensuring business stability and an ongoing service to the public and the National Collections against the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
The additional funding will ensure that the Gallery continues to provide a safe environment for visitors and staff alike and allow the internationally recognised collection to continue to be available for visitors over the holiday period.
Currently, visitors can also enjoy an exhibition dedicated to Piet Mondrian, one of the greatest pioneers of abstract art and a preeminent, hugely influential painter of the first half of the twentieth century. The Gallery has secured a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Kunstmuseum in The Hague which holds the largest collection of Mondrian work. This exhibition will display works from all periods of Mondrian’s fascinating career. They will be complemented by paintings and decorative arts by De Stijl artists such as Theo van Doesburg and Bart van der Leck. Advanced booking is required.
