$40M Albany training center expansion in final phase Completion expected sometime in June FacebookTwitterEmail ALBANY — The $40 million expansion of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision's Albany Training Academy on New Scotland Road is in its final phase and should be completed by the end of June, according to a spokeswoman for the agency. The project added classrooms and dormitory space, as well as a gymnasium, to the facility, which occupies the former Mater Christi Seminary that educated priests from 1954 through 1969. The state leased it from the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese in 1973 as a training center for corrections officers. The state DOCCS purchased the 35-acre site in 1987.
