1 dead in Jasper County crash FacebookTwitterEmail From DPS: At approximately 4:30p.m, (Wednesday) the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on CR 569 in Jasper County. The crash occurred approximately one mile south of Kirbyville. The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2017 Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on CR 569. The driver was traveling at an unsafe speed and lost control. The vehicle continued off the roadway and struck a tree. The passenger, 36-year-old Candice Sfamurri of Spurger, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Mike Smith at the scene. The driver, a 42-year-old man from Kirbyville, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.
