11 teens each fined $230 for large gathering in BC parking lot It was an expensive weekend for a number of teenagers on Vancouver Island. Around 11:45 pm on Saturday, a patrol officer with the Nanaimo RCMP saw a large group or youths and a number of vehicles in the parking lot of Dover Bay Secondary School. They approached the large group and engaged them in a discussion, informing them of the risks associated with their behaviour and telling them they needed to disperse. The officer left the area before returning a short time later, only to find more cars and more youths in the parking lot.
