Troopers said the crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. near the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Combs Road. According to the Highway Patrol, the boy “darted into the path” of a pickup truck while attempting to cross the roadway and the front of the pickup struck him. The Highway Patrol said the boy suffered critical injuries.
