ICHIHARA, Chiba -- Six Asian elephants have fallen ill one after another at a zoo in this east Japan city, with two of them dying on May 16.
According to Ichihara Elephant Kingdom in the Chiba Prefecture city of Ichihara, the reason for the animals' sickness is unknown. The zoo will investigate the cause of death by means including performing autopsies and sending samples to a medical institution for elephants in Thailand.
