Ghaziabad: Two constables posted in Indirapuram police station were suspended for allegedly taking bribes for handing over the victim’s stolen motorcycle. The sub-inspector of the police post was also suspended due to negligence in the case. On Monday (March 1), Gaurav Negi, a resident of Noida’s Sector 59 had visited Jaipuria Mall for some work and parked his motorcycle outside the mall. When he returned, he didn’t find his vehicle at the parked spot after which he submitted a complaint at Indirapuram police station and an FIR was lodged under Section of 379 (punishment for theft) of IPC. On Wednesday (March 3), police recovered the bike and called Gaurav at the police station. When he reached, two constables — Gajendra and Asrat Ali — asked for bribes to return his bike key. Gaurav had made a complaint against both constables to sub-inspector Sandeep Kumar, but he ignored it. Then he approached Kalanidhi Naithani, SSP, following which an investigation was initiated where both constables were found wrong and with immediate effect, both were suspended while the sub-inspector was suspended for negligence into the case.
