2 Ellington Finance Board members resign for different reaso

ELLINGTON — Two members of the Board of Finance — Republican John Rachek, who served as chairman, and Democrat Peg Busse — resigned from their positions this month for different reasons.
Rachek, who served on the Finance Board for 10 years, said it was simply time for him to step down while Busse, who served for three years, felt she could offer more advocacy to Ellington as a non-elected official.
Rachek has been replaced on the Finance Board by Republican Michael Purcaro, who is chairman of the Board of Education.
