Two students were moved into action after seeing many of their classmates falling into depression and thinking of self-harm. Thus began the initiative Let’s Talk that strives to challenge the stigma around mental health and to spread awareness on it. Aaryani Sahay and Kashish Singh are students of The International School of Bangalore. They began the initiative at the age of 13 while they were studying in Class nine. Aaryani said that when she was in Class eight, she noticed a lot of her classmates struggling with things like self-harm, symptoms of depression and suicidal thoughts. “I would ask them to seek support but they refused thinking that they would be judged and looked down upon.
