ALLIANCE – Thirty-eight students at Alliance Intermediate School are in quarantine after a teacher and two students tested positive for COVID-19. The school district was notified about the positive tests on Monday and placed the students under quarantine "out of an abundance of caution," according to a statement from Alliance City School District Superintendent Rob Gress. On Wednesday, the district learned that a third student had tested positive, bringing the total to three students and one teacher. According to the statement, an after-school club at Alliance Intermediate School was also quarantined due to close contact with one of the students. Most of the students will be able to return to school May 14, provided they do not exhibit COVID symptoms 24 hours prior to their return.
