Discussion among city leaders during a Monday, Dec. 14, City Commission work session touched on frightening examples of how the issue is being felt in the city, from the regular sound of gunshots to residents feeling unsafe in homes struck by gunfire. Over 70 homes have been damaged by gunfire in 2020, Deputy City Manager Laura Lam said during MondayтАЩs work session. Plans being formed now call for city outreach to talk to people about the damage to their homes, understand the scope of work needed and to help address the damage done.
